Morris Peaceland Farm

about us

We purchased these beautiful 13 acres back in the summer of 1999. At the property closing I noticed on the deed the name of the property was Peaceland.  From the very beginning, we referred to it as Morris Peaceland, as it just lended itself to the peace and beauty of nature and would be home to our growing family. The property included our house, a couple barns, a large pond and was completely surrounded by woods.  It was, and still is, a rare gem, so close to the city of Raleigh yet offering peace and privacy as if miles away in the country.

Over the years, we have enjoyed and celebrated so many happy events with our family and friends here.  We knew we had been blessed with this property and dreamt to one day, make it a venue for others to enjoy as well. Morris Peaceland Farm, was years in the making and was no small feat.

After months of paper work and getting permits, on June 29, 2016, our family started the massive renovation and rebuilding.  Board by board, we dismantled our old 50’s barn, and board by board repurposing it for the interior of barn and large pavilion. All the interior walls and doors for the bride and groom rooms, restrooms, kitchen and bar are cladded with the naturally weathered barn wood. We didn’t waste a board as some of it was also used to build the bar, stairs and other furniture, giving the interior an authentic and timeless feel. In the summer of 2017, we completed the venue with a fountain in the pond and dock for ceremonies. Let the celebrations begin!!

It has been a privilege and a blessing to be able to open a family business and to do what we love and dreamt about for so many years.

We look forward to your big day.
